Celebrity Get The Look: Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez & Mariah Carey Curly Hairstyle Tips
When you break it down, a celebrity look isn't all that impossible.
Take the complicated task of getting perfect red carpet curls, for
example. You can steal a celeb's spiral tresses with the right tips!
Just ask Ricky Pennisi, founder of a cutting technique for curly hair
called RI CI. We picked three different famous curly looks for Ricky to reveal the true styling secrets to! Yoncé. Remember Bey's big, bouncy curls? Beyoncé was
and still is known for having hair that's in control and defined.
"Section your hair into three levels, starting at the bottom and working
your way to the top, apply a styling gel," Ricky instructed.
To complete your curly look, opt for a setting spray. Ricky applies his own RI CI Memory Setting Spray
($15) all over the coils of his clients. Why? There's a method to the
curly madness. "This step blocks out the frizz and keeps curls in their
place," he noted. Finally,
flip your hair over and squeeze out any excess moisture on top. Air dry
your hair for a natural, "I woke up like this" look. J.LO. Jennifer Lopez isn't known for rocking curly
hair recently, but who doesn't love her throwback "Jenny from the block"
shorter, wavy curls?
If you have naturally, curly hair, this look is one you can pull off
easily, no glam squad required! "The best way to intensify your natural
curl is after you apply your styling gel and setting spray all over, use
a diffuser to dry your hair for super bouncy curls," Ricky advised.
"This will enhance curls by 30% and is great for those who have
naturally wavy or curly locks," Pennisi explained. MiMi. With the summer in full swing, remember that
the sun's harmful UV rays can lead to dry, brittle hair. You gotta water
those curls!
To keep your curls hydrated like Mariah's, try a blend of water with a conditioner. Ricky likes to mix his RI CI Drench Conditioner
($25) with water in a spray bottle to create a custom leave-in
treatment. "You can use this to detangle and refresh your hair. Spray it
six inches away from your locks and then squeeze out any excess
moisture. Then, go back to tanning," he said playfully.
